Kevin Nolan: “If we have a season like Birmingham had last season, brilliant. But we can’t get away from what the objectives are, which is to make sure this club is in a stable condition.
“Hopefully, in the next four or five years, we’ll get back to those glory days of what Newcastle were about. I hope to be a part of that.
“I believe that whatever happens, with the spirit we have and the fans behind us, we’ll be a Premier League team again this time next year.
“That’s the main aim.
"We can’t look to go anywhere beyond that because we couldn’t do it two years ago with a squad of eight or ten more players than we have this year.
"We have a nice core group here, and hopefully we’ll be able to add another two or three players to that.
“Let’s hope we can do that, but if not, I’m confident we can go on and make sure we are a Premier League team next year and slowly build this club back to where it belongs."
