The Magpies are among several top European sides tracking the top Argentine talent and were thought to be ahead of Italian giants Roma and Napoli in the race for his signature, according to The Metro.
But Pezzella, who captain’s the Argentinean Under-20 team, will not be ready for a move until he has cemented a regular place in current club River Plate’s defence, says his agent Eduardo Palomar.
Eduardo Palomar: "We are going to do all what is possible for letting German end his formation at River, and once he has an important part of his career done he will be transferred to a team from abroad.
"There is a total agreement with the officials of River Plate for letting Pezzella play for some time at River until he gets a regular position in the first team.
"He is at his first step of a long ladder. He is happy at this moment and after all the patience he had for being able to play at River, he doesn't have in mind to leave, River is his home, the family owes a lot to River."
Mind you, the press photo of the Pezzella looks a bit iffy (pictured right), if you ask me.
That's a big head for them shoulders. Someone been arseing about on Paintshop I suspect.
Do we need another Nile Ranger (pictured below)?
