His one-handed flip over the bar denied Chelsea striker Diego Costa from putting the game level late in the game.
Jak Alnwick: “Costa is a top player and it’s a dream to play against these kind of players.
“But making a couple of saves.. that’s what I am there for. That’s my job. It is what I did, so there you go.
“I am quite relaxed about it all. If you ask anyone else and they will tell you I’m a relaxed character.
"Maybe it hasn’t sunk in yet. Maybe I’m in shock.
“Most of my family were there, my mum and dad and my girlfriend. It was amazing for them.
"I think it’s the first time my mam has come to one of my games for a few years. It was amazing because obviously they’ve supported me the whole way.
“They are all lifelong Newcastle supporters.
"My dad grew up in Gateshead with my mam.
"It’s a dream. I grew up supporting Newcastle and to play for them in front of 52,000 and beating Chelsea at home, that’s what dreams are made of.
“I guess my mam has not watched me for four or five years, she gets too nervous normally, but for her to be here was massive for me because obviously they’ve been supporting me through all the highs and lows.
“I’m looking forward to maybe having a run in the team. You’ve got to look forward to every game as a young lad, you’ve got to go into each game confident."
