The defender – who signed from Australian club Melbourne Heart in the summer – has joined League Two club Bradford City until January 2 and is determined to impress at Valley Parade.
Newcastle’s squad has been decimated by injuries this season, and the 19-year-old hopes the first-team experience he gains on loan will push him closer to Alan Pardew’s squad.
He was involved in a tournament in the United Arab Emirates with Australia’s Under-19s side last month.
His dream is to play beside Toon skipper Fabricio Coloccini.
Curtis Good: “I’ve just got to work hard every day.
“Hopefully, I can get closer to the first-team squad.
“It’s been good – I’ve settled into a new lifestyle.
“The boys and the staff at the club have been brilliant, which does make it easier.
“This is just the start of the winter, and it’s not looking pretty!
“I’m definitely enjoying my football. Playing on these top pitches with these boys has been brilliant.
“The first time I was in the squad, and sitting in the dressing room with the players, I was blown away by it.
“It was great to experience a game day. I was there as an emergency, but you still have to prepare yourself.
“I was a bit nervous, but that experience was good.
“Next time I do it, I’ll be a lot more relaxed.
"I was involved in a tournament in the United Arab Emirates with Australia’s Under-19s side last month and it went really well.
“We qualified for the World Cup in Turkey.
“It was a tough two weeks with the heat over there. We played a game every second or third day.
“It was two extremes with the weather here! I’ll look forward to that next year.”
