Kazenga LuaLua fired Newcastle United into the fourth round of the fourth-round of the FA Youth Cup, and some are asking if we can lift a cup we last won in 1985 ... in a team that included Gazza! |
LuaLua struck both Newcastle's goals in the 2-1 win over Oldham Athletic at St James's Park. The midfielder struck a stunning 30-yard opener in the 20th minute, and won the tie three minutes from time with a solo effort, with Oldham having hauled themselves level early in the second half through Ryan Brooke. Lua Lua: "It was a really good birthday present (he is 18 today), and a really good win. "It was a good pass from Ryan (Donaldson), and a good goal. At first I tried to pass to Nile (Ranger), but then I just hit it, and when it went into the back of the net I was really pleased. "We needed an early goal. We tried to score a second, but they made it 1-1. I scored with five minutes left in the game, and we were happy to go through. "It's an important competiton. You always want to play in the Youth Cup, and it was a really good night for us."
