Chesterfield are set to complete the signing of French winger Alex Mendy by the coming weekend, and they have asked Alan Pardew if they can take young Donaldson on a six month deal.
Chesterfield manager John Sheridan hopes to push the deals through in time for the players to be involved against MK Dons on Saturday.
