Newcastle United’s young midfielder Sean Longstaff is poised to join League One side Blackpool on loan following an impressive half-season loan at Scottish side Kilmarnock last season, according to a report on HITC.
The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the finest talents at Newcastle after having risen through the youth ranks with the Magpies.
The club are adamant that they will not sell Longstaff on a permanent basis but are open to a loan move to ensure that he is getting sufficient game time during his teenage years.
The midfielder gained a lot of praise towards the end of last season during his loan at Kilmarnock where he scored three times in 17 appearances as he became a regular for the Scottish side.
They were keen to sign Longstaff permanently after seeing his talent but the Magpies have reiterated that he is not up for sale.
Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer is an admirer of Longstaff and is prepared to make him the main player as his side look to win promotion to the Championship this season.
Newcastle look set to agree a six-month loan deal for now with Blackpool and will again decide what to do with the talented midfielder in the January transfer window.
The move will help Longstaff develop as a player as he will be getting regular first team football in a very competitive league.
