Enforced changes in store for crucial clash
Newcastle United take on Norwich City at St James’ Park on Tuesday evening and the home side will be forced into making changes to their line up due to suspension.
Eddie Howe will be without captain Jamaal Lascelles and the versatile Matt Ritchie for the game after both picked up their 5th yellow cards of the season in the weekend defeat at Arsenal, resulting in suspension for tonight’s game.
With 13 games of the Premier League season played Newcastle are still searching for their first victory of the season and anything less than a win against the team immediately above them in the table would be yet another setback in a season that has yet to get going.
Eddie Howe will be hoping that the huge home crowd will be able to lift his team as he takes to the St James’ Park home dugout for the first time. The Magpies are currently six points behind 4th-bottom Leeds United, so still only two wins back, which in light of their winless start must be seen as something of a blessing. With home fixtures against the other two sides currently in the bottom three this week, Newcastle must get positive results if they are to start clawing back the pack.
