However, Steve McClaren has confirmed that the players will get to spend Christmas Day evening with their families due to the fact the match with the Toffees does not kick-off at St James’ Park until 5.30pm.
The Magpies have three games in just eight days, including two in less than 48 hours, over a hectic Premier League festive schedule.
After they entertain Everton on Boxing Day, United travel to The Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion on December 28, before visiting The Emirates on January 2 to play Arsenal in their opening game of 2016.
But McClaren has revealed that, although the players will train as normal on the morning of December 25, there will be a chance to take part in the festivities later on.
McClaren said: “We’ll train as normal Christmas Day.
“We’ll be here (at their Benton training base) nice and early and preparing for Everton because we know it’s going to be a tough game.
“We have to be professional while other people are enjoying it a little bit more and just making sure that we focus and have our intensity again.
“The players will be in during the morning and then we kick-off at 5.30pm the day after so they’ll be away off home (after the morning).
“It will be normal preparation with lots of present opening on Christmas Day.”
