He looks to be taking the Steven Taylor route to stardom - although he prefers central defence, KK played him at right-back against Hartlepool.
Not really his true position, but one Keegan is desperate for cover should anything happen to first team star Habib Beye.
Taylor was thrown into the first-team at right-back, and although it took a couple of games to adjust, it did his progress no harm.
But Keegan prefers experience in the centre of the back-line and Tozer is well down the pecking order if he hopes to progress in that position.
United signed the youngster from Swindon Town last January.
Tozer: "I want to get on the pre-season tour, as does everyone. I've just got to keep working hard.
"I had such a good season last year, rounded off by being on the bench in the last game.
"I went home and had a good break, and I just couldn't wait to come back.
"I'm really enjoying it. This is probably the fittest I've been since I came here. Hopefully, I'll get fitter and fitter.
"It was really good to get on against Hartlepool and Doncaster.
"I went on at right-back, a position I haven't really played since I've been here, but I can play there.
"Then I went to centre-back, and felt a lot more comfortable.
"Overall, playing in front of the fans was really good experience."
