Toronto fans enjoy a close bond with Carver, and unfurled a flag and Celtic shirt in Burns' honour.
Carver: "After the Columbus game, I ran over to the far corner of our ground because there was a banner in tribute to Tommy."Out of respect I went across and kissed the Celtic shirt.
"I thanked our fans for showing great respect to Tommy. He was a great friend of mine and I'm sad he's no longer here.
"The fans over here are just like me, they are passionate and that's why I'm
here.
"Newcastle United v Toronto FC would be a great game to have one day.
"I know what the Newcastle fans are like and we have a lot of them in Toronto who come wearing their United tops.
"I always make a point in picking them out and giving them a wave.
"But to have a lot more of them here would be great.
"They are vocal and they get behind their team, just like Newcastle fans do.
"In fact, they are probably the equivalent to the Toon Army in MLS."
