There has been confirmation that a £2 million loan from Mike Ashley has been accepted by the Scottish club and the Newcastle owner has shown he now has an increasing influence at Ibrox.
Llambias is expected to be the first arrival, and like his time at St James' Park, he will make his presence known as soon as he walks through the door.
Llambias is the business man who knows how football works. Ashley is the guy with the money and a craving to become a football legend.
Put them both together and the reality is ... shit will certainly hit the fan!
The pair fell out at Newcastle, and although the reason was never confirmed, it was suggested the growing influence of Dennis Wise (that was starting to over-shadow Llambias) had a lot to do with it.
Llambias has to be in TOTAL control, and Wise was getting well above his station.
But Ashley's No 2 is back ... bright-eyed and bushy tailed ... and Rangers will never quite be the same again.
Although Ashley is prohibited from owning more than 10 per cent of Rangers while owning Newcastle after he signed an agreement with the Scottish Football Association three years ago, he does run the club’s retail division and holds naming rights to the stadium.
The terms of his loan also gives him security over the Albion Car Park and Edmiston House facilities on the doorstep of Ibrox.
