St James’ Park is well-known for it’s passionate fanbase, but a recent poll claiming it has the best atmosphere in the Premier league has left some Newcastle fans bemused.
I'm never sure what sort of person votes in such polls. Have they actually been to each ground or just made an opinion from watching TV?
A recent bet365 Twitter post ranked every Premier League stadium from one to twenty for their atmosphere, with the Newcastle United stadium topping the list.
That is a positive stance, considering it was ten times better ten or more years ago. But I'd say the same about most stadiums these days.
As for Selhurst Park being better than the Bridge?
St Mary's better than Old Trafford?
