Gary Lineker has shared footage of Alan Shearer's joyous reaction to Newcastle United's last-minute winner at home to Chelsea on Saturday.
The pair were together in the BBC's Match of the Day studios ahead of filming for the latest edition of the programme, when Isaac Hayden popped up to secure an improbable 1-0 victory for the Magpies against Frank Lampard's men.
In the fourth and final minute of additional time, the midfielder headed in for Newcastle after meeting an in-swinging cross from Allan Saint-Maximin, with the win taking the north-east side seven points clear of 18th-place Aston Villa.
Shearer - a regular pundit on MOTD - could barely contain his excitement following Hayden's goal at the death, as seen in a video uploaded to Lineker's official Twitter account.
The Premier League's all-time leading goalscorer was not alone in his celebrations, with St. James' Park erupting after the Magpies collected their eighth top-flight triumph of the season.
Rafa Benitez's departure over the summer led many to predict that Newcastle would struggle during the 2019/20 campaign, suggesting they faced an uphill battle to avoid relegation from the first division.
However, new manager Steve Bruce has made superb use of the limited resources afforded to him by owner Mike Ashley, as a result of which the Magpies find themselves in a relatively comfortable position as we enter move towards the business end of the season.
The loss of Benitez last July had left large sections of the Newcastle support fearing for their side's top-flight status, with the fans generally viewing the Spaniard as the key factor in their survival in the previous two campaigns.
That partially explains why Shearer and the rest of the Toon Army have produced such jubilant reactions to victories like the one over Chelsea on the weekend. The unexpected nature of their success makes each point that much more valuable, and that much more special.
