The 31-year-old has decided not to extend his stay on Teeside and he has, allegedly, told Big Sam he is set for Tyneside.
West Ham, Portsmouth and Birmingham want the Australian international, but talks are expected to take place later this week as Viduka enjoys a break before heading off on Asian Cup duty.
Viduka arrived at the Riverside in a £4.5million from Elland Road in July 2004 to team up with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
He scored 19 goals last season and took his tally for the club to 42 in 100 appearances, 20 of them as a substitute.
Big Sam will have a rich of talents in his strike force for the new season, with Viduka, Michael Owen, Shola Ameobi and Obafemi Martins.
