Martin O'Neill will be hoping he stays, and that could be the case, because Man City have started to look elsewhere after Villa rejected an opening offer of £20million from City in May and then asked £30m for him.
Suddenly Villa owner Randy Lerner is getting a little concerned, because City have laughed off his proposal ... and the midlands club could be left with a player worth HALF the £30m asking price.
O'Neill added: "I think the owner puts a price on players. Of course, he will have an idea on the price.
"Negotiations are being conducted by the Villa chief executive and the owner and I will be guided by them."
