FC Copenhagen's Norway central defender Brede Hangeland goes against the grain if you look at what Big Sam wants from the man he intends to bring in to dominate the back-line.
He certainly has the build and strength, and with 33 caps for Norway the experience. But "experience" in a lower league, and Denmark is hardly a top class league.
Sam said only last week "the man I want has to have Premiership experience".
Copenhagen value Hangeland around the £4million mark, but the thought of US international Oguchi Onyewu springs to mind.
Porto's Portugal right back Jose Bosingwa is also a target. Bosingwa, 24, is rated in the £3m class by Porto.
