The last time Newcastle gained promotion, in 1992/93, they took the top-flight by storm under Kevin Keegan with Andy Cole and Peter Beardsley leading the charge up front, and they were dubbed the Entertainers as they eventually finished third.
Kevin Nolan: "That's why everybody loved watching Newcastle United because there would be 10 people flying forward, and it was brilliant to watch.
"You couldn't take your eyes off the screen, could you?
"You can't knock them for what they did back then, and that's why they were called the Entertainers because they'd go from one end of the field to the other – it was like watching a tennis match go back and forward.
"Not many teams do that any more, not even Man United or Chelsea, and I'm certain Liverpool don't.
"Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking their ability. It is ridiculous, and they're all fantastic footballers.
"But I think it's only Arsenal that actually knock the ball around, start from the back and play that sort of stuff.
"It's something you have to move with, with the times, and hopefully we'll play our good football when it's needed.
"But football is very much a results business, and that's what the Premier League is all about.
"It's so massive to get results, but I'm sure we can rise to the occasion when we can and play some good football as well."
