What does the future hold for Newcastle United duo Haris Vuckic and Siem de Jong?
Newcastle United will not offer Haris Vuckic a new contract, according to The Shields Gazette.
Vuckic is out of contract at Newcastle in the summer, and no new deal is in place. According to the report, the Magpies will not offer the 24-year-old attacking midfielder a new contract.
The Slovenia international has been on the books of Newcastle since 2009, but the attacker has failed to make an impact at St. James’ Park.
The attacking midfielder has played on loan for a number of clubs during his time at Newcastle, including Rangers and Wigan Athletic.
Another Newcastle attacker whose future at the club looks bleak is Siem de Jong. The 28-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Dutch club PSV.
According to The Shields Gazette, PSV are not looking to sign the Netherlands international on a permanent contract.
It has been reported that if De Jong struggles to get into Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle team for the 2017-18 Premier League campaign, then he could leave the Magpies on another loan deal.
