An obvious comment considering Gutierrez's condition, but the way Pardew has dealt with the winger in the last 18 months has been nothing short of SHOCKING.
He didn't want to trigger his contract clause and sent him out on loan, saying he would not play for Newcastle again.
He wouldn't let him train with the first team!
Gutierrez this week revealed he was undergoing treatment for testicular cancer.
The 31-year-old winger – who had a testicle removed last year – is undergoing a course of chemotheraphy in his native Argentina.
Alan Pardew: “The club is supporting him on a financial level and I hope has given him the support he needs.
“As a player, the best left side I have had at this club was (Jose) Enrique and Jonas, there is no doubt about that.
“That was a terrific pairing. When we finished fifth (in the Premier League), Jonas was a massive part of that.
“Now he finds himself in a different fight and a different situation. I have to admire the way he has conducted himself.
“I am sure people will use this as an example of hopefully how to deal with it. He has been incredibly brave to go on TV and give interviews.
“All our love goes to him and we just send our best wishes.”
