The defender has started just eight Premier League games of an injury and suspension-hit campaign at St James’s Park, and at Christmas his agent went looking for a new club.
Taylor – who has made 244 career appearances for United – has been a frustrated spectator for much of a once-promising Premier League campaign.
He knows, more than anyone, Alan Pardew's departure would give him a new lease of life.
Taylor will be made available for a summer move ... if Pardew stays.
Steven Taylor: “Nobody knows what will happen with anybody – that’s modern-day football – but I love playing for this club.
“I’ll continue to enjoy my football. I just want to keep playing.
“I’ve got to thank the fans. They’ve been supportive.
“It’s been frustrating – I’ve been in and out of the team – but I loved getting back out there.
“It was just disappointing that we lost (against Stoke).
“For us, we’ve just got to stick together and take one game at a time.
“We just want to win as many games as we can.
“We have to go into every game thinking we can win it. We’ve got players coming back from injury and people challenging for places. I’m confident.”
