Didier Domi: “I think people like him haven’t been a regular player that we’ve all been waiting for.
“I know he likes the place and likes everything, so he will regret it if he goes.
“Maybe not if he goes to Manchester United, or a better club on the pitch, but he won’t play in front of better fans.
“If he goes to a smaller team, he will regret it.
“Does he want to go from playing in front of 52,000 people to just a few thousand?
“When I saw Cabaye go to PSG, I was happy - as a PSG fan.
“But for Newcastle I wasn’t.
“When your best player goes, you aren’t a club that wants to challenge the first four or five.
“It was disappointing. To get to the top four you have to spend some money, not sell your best players.
“For the years to come, I think Newcastle will be seventh or eighth, maybe with a good run, a little bit further.
“I met Hatem in Parc des Princes last season and he said: ‘Why don’t you come to St James?’.
“It is about time. It’s difficult for me to travel but hopefully one day I’ll go back.”
