"In the 17 months I've been here, we have had a net spend of somewhere in the region of £30million. That's a lot of money for any club to spend.
"As I understand it, we have got nothing to spend. We have not been pursuing anything in this window, because I was told very early on that we had nothing to spend unless somebody left.
"No one's left, so we have nothing to spend."
