The charge does not relate to anything the Wigan players did towards our players (even though Kevin Kilbane was sent off for two bookable offences) but the attitude towards the referee.Apparently the Latics players were very abusive towards referee Steve Bennett on two separate occasions in the Premier League clash against Newcastle.
The club have until September 19 to respond to the charge.
