Wigan boss Steve Bruce revealed he had endured a "terrible" weekend before his side beat Everton 1-0 to lift themselves back out of the Premier League relegation zone ... and dump us back in it!!!

PREMIER LEAGUE TABLE Tuesday 25 November

Bottom 11 - Points first, then goal difference:

Middlesbrough 18 -6
Man City 17 7
Bolton 17 -2
West Ham 17 -5
Stoke 17 -10
Wigan 16 -2
Tottenham 15 -3
Sunderland 15 -8
---------------------------
Newcastle 14 -5
Blackburn 13 -11
West Brom 11 -15

A 51st-minute strike from Henri Camara gave the Latics only their second home league win of the season and their first since beating Manchester City 2-1 almost two months ago.

Bruce: "We are delighted that we got the points for obvious reasons.

"We've not kicked a ball all weekend and there was a terrible wait before our game.

"That was arguably one of our poorest performances if I am being brutally honest.

"But it was a great result and a great feeling to finally get another home win.
"The result was the most important thing on a night like this."

Saturday's visit to the Riverside is arguably the biggest Tyne/Tees fixture in years, and Joe Kinnear must be inspired by Bolton's win there last weekend.

Defeat for the Magpies is unthinkable, with Stoke City playing Hull (who are dropping like a stone), and two massive six-point fixtures ... Sunderland v Bolton and Wigan Athletic v West Brom.
