United will host Spanish side Real Sociedad in a friendly on Sunday, August 10 (1.30pm).
The fixture, the Magpies’ only friendly at St James’s Park, completes Alan Pardew’s side’s warm-up to the new season.
Sociedad finished seventh in La Liga this season, having also played in the Champions League where they faced Manchester United in the group stage.
The game rounds off a busy summer for Newcastle. As well as away games on British soil against Oldham Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town, the Magpies will also travel to New Zealand and Germany, where they will play two matches on each tour.
Ticket details for the Sociedad game are yet to be announced.
