Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he has concerns over Woodgate's recovery from a groin problem after revealing club physios are still struggling to get to the bottom of the injury.
Woodgate, 29, underwent surgery in the summer and made a comeback in October but his last appearance was in the demolition of Wigan at White Hart Lane nearly two months ago.
Harry Redknapp: "Hopefully when he comes back he will be able to train properly but he is not able to train at the moment.
"It is just a case of trying to get to the bottom of what is causing the problem. He has had a few operations on that area and we are finding it difficult to solve the problem.
"It is (concerning), for him as well.
"He wants to play football as much as anybody, more than anybody. But hopefully in a couple of weeks it could go away in the same way as it came.
"They feel that the strengthening work that they are doing now is starting to show some signs of improvement, we just hope that that's going to do the trick for him now."
Woodgate, as I'm sure you will remember, left Newcastle for Real Madrid when he was on the treatment table ... and then-chairman Freddy Shepherd said later: "I couldn't believe he passed the medical!"
