The Welsh wizard has apparently not yet responded to his FA misconduct charge, and has only until Friday to do so if he wishes to plead not guilty.
Bellamy was of course charged by the FA for allegedly swearing at referee Andy D’Urso after the defeat at Middlesbrough, or to put it another way telling the incompetent Cockney what we all thought of his performance.
An FA spokesman confirmed: "Craig Bellamy was charged under rule E2 which covers abusive and/or insulting words to a match official. He has until March 28 to respond and we are still waiting to hear from him. He can request a personal hearing.''
It now seems likely that the club will just accept the verdict of the FA disciplinary panel, which means a fine if you are Dennis Bergkamp or more likely a two-match ban.
One thing Bellamy doesn’t have to worry about though is travelling to Belgrade next week as Wales’ Euro 2004 qualifier against Serbia & Montenegro has been postponed due to unrest following the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic.
