... Paolo Di Canio has said that he would be open to managing Newcastle United.
The Italian has been out of work since being sacked by Sunderland in September 2013 following a tumultuous time at the club.
Speaking to TalkSport, the former forward has said that he will “consider everything” as he looks to rebuild his managerial career.
“Obviously I want to be a manager in the Premier League, but I don’t care if it’s in the Championship or League One. It’s important that there is a project for the future, a medium period,” said the Italian.
“I am an open manager.
“When you’re a manager, sometimes you like a challenge, even challenges that you might not expect. Everything is possible in life, why not?"
While it’s unlikely Di Canio would be offered the job at Newcastle, stranger things have happened and owner Mike Ashley is not one to be bothered by what the fan base has to say.
