The Chronicle reports tonight: A player linked with United since the transfer window swung open for business on January 1 is £8m-rated Karim Ziani of Wolfsburg.
However, with the 28-year-old keen to quit the Bundesliga side, he has been offered to several other Premier League clubs, according to sources in Germany.
Ziani has been unhappy at Wolfsburg since last August after a row with team-mates, but he has also had numerous run-ins with coaching staff.
Manager Steve McClaren is open to offers to take the player on loan, with Monaco also monitoring the situation.
