This week it’s the turn of the Sunday Mirror to bring us an ‘exclusive’ on the subject, claiming that Freddy Shepherd was in Barcelona on Saturday to open negotiations about a January transfer.
The rest of it is the usual stuff though - wage cut, unhappy at Barcelona, marital difficulties, boo boys, reduced buyout clause, longing to play in the Premiership etc.
Anyway the upshot is that Kluivert will sign a three-year contract in January in order to revitalise our challenge for a Champions League place, or perhaps he won’t after all.
The Sunday Mirror is of course the paper that brought us the ‘exclusive’ last week that Sir Bobby is keen to sign Michael Bridges, so they’re obviously first with all the big stories!
