Representatives of his club Atletico Paranaense are reported to have flown to England to discuss the sale of the player with five Premiership clubs.
However Newcastle are not amongst those clubs and with the Brazilians having chosen controversial agent Barry Silkman to represent them a deal seems even less likely than when Freddy Shepherd left Brazil without having clinched the player’s signature in January.
Silkman of course is the agent who is currently suing Newcastle for an unpaid £100,000 fee for work he claims to have done on Clarence Acuna’s transfer from Universidad de Chile.
